Prof. S. P. Savaidis received the diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and his Ph.D. degree from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 1991 and 1997 respectively. He was a Telecommunication Engineer with one of the largest wireless networks industries in Greece, from 1997 to 2004. Since 2004 he has been an Assistant Professor, since 2009 an Associate Professor, and, since 2014 a Professor with the Department of Electronics Engineering of the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences, PUAS (TEI of Piraeus). He has participated in several EU and national research projects in the area of theoretical and applied electromagnetism. His research interests include High Power Microwaves, Electromagnetic wave propagation and scattering, EMC testing and measurement methodology, radio channel measurements and modelling, antenna engineering as well electromagnetic modelling for optical applications and devices.
